1. "La Salle" Tacos

The famous "La Salle Tacos" were born in León in the 70s thanks to Mrs. María Adilia Loáisiga, today 84 years old, who still lives near the El Laborío Church. 45 years ago, Adilia and her family introduced a Nicaraguan version of the Mexican taco to the city, adapting it to local gastronomy. Since then, she has remained one of the main pioneers and merchants of this dish, recognized and appreciated by both locals and visitors from all over the country.

The current administration of La Salle Tacos is in the hands of Óscar Loáisiga and his wife, Ruth Quirós.

2. Marlene Tacos

Marlene Tacos started operations in 1996, originally near La Salle Tacos. Over time, they moved to their now recognized location, a spacious area designed for sitting and enjoying comfortably.

The famous Leonese tacos stand out for their fried tortilla and shredded chicken or pork filling, accompanied by cabbage salad, sauce, and plenty of cream.

Today, these tacos are considered almost a culinary symbol of León, a tradition that has passed from generation to generation and forms part of the city's gastronomic identity.
